Miroku Falls was named after a monk named Kyugaku-bo, who worshipped Maitreya
Bodhisattva and practiced asceticism under this waterfall in the early Muromachi period(1333-1573).
The beautiful scenery and the physical ionic effect of the waterfall’s spray make it a popular power spot.
Around Miroku Falls, there is a beautiful forest where you can feel the force of nature in every season.
The colors of the trees change from fresh green to deep green, then quickly into autumn leaves, and eventually to the white wintery season.
The waterfall is also famous for looking like Snoopy, depending on the amount of water and the angle from which the falls are viewed.
Within the Miroku Falls area, there is also a beautiful and large leisure site, which perfect for a family picnic.
